The department of economics established in 1986 with the establishment of the college.It has been committed towards spreading knowledge through teaching and extensive services and developing Human Resources in the field of economics . - [ ] The course structure of the department follows the syllabus framed by the Gauhati university .The department encourages the quality education through remedial classes,personal contact with the students etc.The students have an access an well equipped central library. The department offers major/honours courses since 1994.Currently,the department maintains the honours and regular courses in the first year,second year and third year as well. - [ ]
